The
Royal United Hospital (RUH) is the acute district
general hospital for Bath and surrounding towns and
villages in Somerset and West Wiltshire. Each year
the dedicated staff at the RUH treat and care for
30,000 in-patients and day cases, 53,000 accident
and emergency patients, plus 249,000 out patients.
They receive the best medical care that money can
buy, but the NHS funding cannot meet these ever-increasing
costs, and that's where the hospital's charity, The
Forever Friends Appeal , steps in.
In
1999 The Forever Friends Appeal was launched, although
originally named the RUH 2001. Our current name was
later secured with the co-operation of Hallmark
PLC, and the Appeal as we now know it was born.
