The Gift Aid scheme
allows The Forever Friends Appeal to increase the
value of your gift by almost a third without any cost
to you.
From
April 2000, if you are a United Kingdom taxpayer,
any donation made to us on which tax has been paid
comes under the Gift Aid scheme. For example, basic
rate tax is currently 28 per cent, so a gift of £72
to The Forever Friends Appeal would be increased through
Gift Aid to £100 – we claim the extra £28
from the Inland Revenue.
This means that no
matter how much tax you pay – whether on income, savings
or investments – as long as you have paid enough to
cover the amount deducted from your donations, we
can claim it back. The new scheme also applies to
anyone who pays UK tax, wherever they are resident.
To make any or all
of your donations to the Appeal qualify, all you need
to do is tick the Gift Aid Declaration box when you
make your donation . We will then claim back
the tax you have paid from the Inland Revenue on any
donation covered by the Declaration.
