Major Gifts & Trusts
Meeting the cost
The RUH has pledged up to £1.4 million towards the project cost. However, NHS resources are finite and if our new NICU is to be built, the RUH needs The Forever Friends Appeal to raise £4.7 million from a range of sources.
Donations and grants are being sought from individuals, trusts and foundations, companies and the general public. The Campaign is also raising money from parents and the general public by way of events and other income-generating initiatives. These efforts are hugely welcome and the profile they provide encourages more people to become involved locally and further afield.
Your support is now crucial to our success
The NICU ‘space to grow’ Campaign needs grants and donations in higher denominations to ensure it meets its overall target and the ambitious timescale for building and equipping the new NICU – and giving those working hard to raise smaller sums, the impetus to continue.
We need to attract up to £2.75 million in the form of major gifts or ‘consortia-led’ responses that pledge to adopt a significant portion of the overall target.

Project Support and Recognition
Giving premature and sick babies a better start in life is what this Campaign is all about - and your support will be greatly valued and appreciated, especially by the families involved. We offer a range of ‘Naming Opportunities’ to acknowledge our donors. These comprise areas of specific usage, including: clinical, pastoral and parental accommodation, embracing the holistic model of care for premature babies and their families. The clinical areas range from Intensive Care to a laboratory for analysing important samples for early diagnosis.
Various funding options are provided opposite, but please feel free to discuss the full range of possibilities with a member of the Appeal team.
Generous support is acknowledged depending on each donor’s preference and includes:
