The CT Scanner Campaign was the first major campaign that The Forever Friends Appeal undertook. Following 7 years raising funds for all areas of the hospital, it was decided that the Appeal would concentrate mainly on one large item which had been agreed with RUH Board, and the MEC (medical Equipment Committee).

In 2007, the CT Scanner Campaign was launched to the public and saw, a remarkable amount of public support during its duration. The two highest points were a very generous donation from Virgin Mobile for £150,000, which is the single largest donation from a company that the Appeal has received to date. Secondly, was the very successful Direct Mail.

The Direct Mail was implemented with the help of clinicians from Radiology and was sent with a letter from them to their patients.

The Direct Mail surpassed all expectations and went on to be the winner of the ’Best direct Mail for 2007′ at the Institute of fundraising awards. The Appeal was up against Barnardos and RSPCA for the award, and due to the support we received from the public it was a surprise winner.
