Vanessa Kyte Canal Walk 2010

Vanessa’s Walk along the canal is set to take place in 2010 on Saturday 12th June. We hope that you and your friends, family and colleagues are able to join us to help raise funds for state-of-the-art medical equipment to care for cancer patients at Bath’s RUH.

Vanessa, who sadly lost her battle with cancer in November 2007, was a truly inspirational woman who loved to fundraise for charities that were very close to her heart. Her remarkable achievements and passion for fundraising has continued in her memory, as this is the third year that Vanessa’s family have led the walk along the beautiful Kennet and Avon canal from Devizes to Bath.

The full walk is approximately 21 miles, setting off at 9am from Devizes Wharf. Walkers are invited to take part in:

• Whole day: Devizes to Bath (approximately 21 miles)
• Morning: Devizes to Bradford-On-Avon (approximately 12 miles)
• Afternoon: Bradford-On-Avon to Bath (approximately 9 miles)


We hope that everyone who signs up to take part in Vanessa’s Walk will do their very best to raise as much as they possibly can towards the suggested sponsorship level of £150.

To secure your place on the walk, simply complete this registration and health and safety form and return them to the Appeal office with your £10 entry fee (cheques made payable to ‘RUH charitable fund’). We will then pop a fundraising pack in the post to you to confirm your place in the event.

Please note: The full 21 mile walk is restricted to walkers age 15 and over. All walkers between the ages of 15 and 17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult and their parent/guardian will need to complete this parental consent form before they will be allowed on the walk. Walkers between the age of 11 and 14 can participate in either the morning or the afternoon walk. They also must be accompanied by a responsible adult and their parent/guardian will need to complete this parental consent form before they will be allowed on the walk.
