Donations to the Cardiac Care Fund help ensure that local heart patients receive the best possible care.
The Fund supports the work of a range of cardiac services at the Royal United Hospital. These include:
- The Cardiac Ward – The cardiac ward is a 40-bedded unit, comprising 12 day case beds, four six-bedded bays (three male and one female) and four side rooms in the main ward.
- The Coronary Care Unit – There are eight beds, two being situated in side rooms.
- Cardiac Centre Clinics – It offers a range of invasive and non-invasive cardiology investigations to outpatients and inpatients.
The Cardiology Department also manages the Rapid Access Chest Pain service.
