This year’s Movie by Moonlight raised over £14,000 – so thank you to those who came to watch The Greatest Showman and made a donation, you have helped support your local hospital, The Royal United Hospitals (RUH) Bath.

The funds will go towards our major campaigns and recently launched Special Appeals – raising funds for the RUH’s Critical Care Unit, Breast Unit, Facial Surgery and Orthodontics Department and the Friendly Faces Project, part of hospital’s Dementia care services.

Tim Hobbs, Head of Fundraising said:

“This year’s Movie by Moonlight saw the biggest crowd – over 6,000 people! We’ve never seen a turnout like we did on Saturday. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and I would like to say a huge thank you to those who showed their support and made a donation in our 20th year of fundraising.

“We rely on donations from the public to help further improve vital services at the RUH and we are truly grateful to everyone who has made a donation.

“We still have a way to go to reach our fundraising targets, but this is an incredible amount and the public’s generosity has highlighted how much local people want to get behind and support the RUH, especially if they or their family have been treated in one of these departments – so we hope people will continue to remember us and donate towards these Special Appeals.”

We say a huge thank you to Freestyle Designs for sponsoring the event for the fourth consecutive year. Also to our volunteers who collected the donations and we’d also like to thank Geoff and Nic Bissex of Filmair Cinema for bringing the magic of the cinema to Bath every year. Without Filmair’s support, the event would not happen.
