Launching of the NICU 'space to grow' Campaign
for our premature babies
On Saturday 7th July 2007 over 100 families who have had recent experience of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Royal United Hospital celebrated the official launch of the NICU 'space to grow' Campaign for premature babies.
The occasion was
marked with the unveiling of the new NICU 'space to grow' Campaign signage
above the entrance of the Princess Anne Wing and the release of 500 'green'
balloons to symbolise the sustainable
part of the build planned to improve facilities for the 500 babies who depend on the care
and treatment of the unit each year.
The event kicked off
at 11am with Don Foster comparing the celebration that included an astounding
performance from renowned opera singer Tim Pitman, as well as interviews with
Jason Gardner, Anthony Head and Bath Rugby players. The launch was then
continued on Monday 9th July with a visit from the
countries oldest
triplets Doris Kingston, Alice Holmes and Gladys Caress who traveled down from
Leeds to mark this special occasion.
