A cheque for £7,300 has been gratefully received from The Frome and District Fatstock Society and will go to the Urology Department at the RUH.
This incredible amount was raised by a charity auction which took place at The Fatstock Society Annual Dinner at Frome Market on Friday 30th November.
Andrew Hillier, from Box, organised the lots for the auction which included tickets for a round of golf at Bowood, a day’s shooting for one at Ashton Farmers Syndicate, a top of the range shooting coat, a John Deere tool box and many fabulous prizes. He said:
“I would like to thank those who supported the charity auction with their generous donations and the care and support given by the Urology staff at the RUH. I am in awe of their incredible devotion to the cancer treatment of so many.”
Chris Eden, Joint Honorary Secretary of The Frome and District Fatstock Society said:
“The Frome Fatstock Society were extremely pleased to be able to support this worthwhile cause by holding the charity auction at our Annual Dinner. Donations were also made from those attending Frome Livestock Market. As well as raising funds, hopefully the auction has increased awareness regarding prostate cancer and ‘getting checked’.”
Lauren Noble, Senior Community Fundraiser, who was presented with the cheque said:
“We would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Andrew, The Fatstock Society and everyone involved in raising such an incredible amount of money towards the Urology department at the Royal United Hospital, Bath. I’m always blown away by the goodwill and generosity of our supporters and this is an amazing example of what can be achieved when a community comes together.
“We strive to ensure the very best care, treatment and facilities are available to every patient on every ward and department and we are very grateful to have such a wonderful support network.”
