Run for us! We’d love you to be part of our team!
Take part in the Great North Run for The Forever Friends Appeal and help make a real difference to patients and their families at the Royal United Hospitals Bath.
The Great North Run is widely considered to be the greatest half marathon in the world. Since the first starting pistol sounded in 1981, over a million runners have passed over the Tyne Bridge – heading towards the beach-front finish at South Shields.
We want you to tread in their footsteps, and run this iconic race for our staff, patients and their families.
Be part of the 40th Great North Run
Starting in Newcastle upon Tyne, the 13.1 mile route will take you through the city centre towards the River Tyne. You’ll be one of thousands of runners crossing over the iconic Tyne Bridge, where, if you’re lucky, you might get a glimpse of the Red Arrows passing overhead. The route is lined by thousands of enthusiastic supporters and you’ll be cheered on every step of the way!
The route leads runners to South Shields where at the top of Prince Edward Road the view of the sea is one of the most welcoming sights along the whole course.
If you want to take part in the 2020 Great North Run, you can sign up to the reminder service and they will be in touch with you as soon as the ballot opens in early January 2020.
If you already have a place and paid your entry fee through the event organiser you can join our team as an Own Place runner. There’s no minimum fundraising target, just raise as much as you can. To secure your place with the event organiser please visit the Great North Run website.
