Once-upon-a-time Sunday mornings in the Chew Valley were a quiet affair; the bells of the church would toll, the odd person here-and-there would be seen walking to the shops for their papers, but the villages surrounding the Chew Valley Lake were a quiet and peaceful place to be.
Then one day a group of lovely people got together with a plan, a plan to create a stand out event, to get people up and moving, then everything changed.
This is the Chew Valley 10k – a very successful running event now into it’s 4th year. Join the race, you’ll be glad you did.
The race will start and finish at Bishop Sutton Village Hall, and heads out on the rural roads towards East Harptree in the shadow of the Mendip Hills. The challenge then comes in the climb up to Hinton Blewitt where your energies will be rewarded with wide views over the Chew Valley – and maybe some jelly babies. The final stretch drops you back into Bishop Sutton where the crowds will cheer you across the finish tape.
