2015 Rotary Golf Classic supports The Forever Friends Appeal

The Rotary Club of Chippenham  are looking forward to meeting you at the 2015 Rotary Golf Classic, to be held on Thursday 16th April.

The day offers a great opportunity to play a challenging game of golf at the award winning Manor House Golf Club at Castle Combe, which is located in splendid scenery, on the edge of the Cotswold escarpment. The venue is listed as the Number 1 Course in Wiltshire, and is included in the UK’s “Top 100 Golf Courses”.

For 2015, the Rotary Club have nominated charity will be Bath’s Royal United Hospital “Forever Friends” Appeal, which is building what is believed to be the best cancer care centre for a district hospital in the UK. This is so important, as one in three people are affected by cancer. Every day, lives are changed forever by this disease, which indiscriminately alters the futures of people everywhere.

The club are looking to beat the nearly £4000 that was raised at the 2014 event.

This year the club will follow the now successful format, with access to the driving range to limber up, coffee and a bacon roll to get you going, followed by a “shotgun” start for a Texas Scramble medal competition. Buggies are included in the price and the day will be rounded off with the opportunity for a drink in the bar before the prize giving, followed by a traditional carvery dinner. This will include a charity auction with some stunning lots donated by local organisations. The £55 per person fee for all of the above is considerably cheaper than the usual cost of playing at this splendid course!

What a great opportunity to play a round of golf with friends, work colleagues, or to entertain corporate guests.

In addition to the two charity holes (beat the Pro and “stay on the green”), the day will feature on-course competitions for the straightest drive and nearest the pin for both ladies and gents.

There will be a number of excellent lots in the auction, which will be run by Gordon Brockman of Chippenham Auction Rooms as auctioneer – so bring your cheque book!

The star auction lot this year is the opportunity to drive a brand new £60 000 Jaguar F-type for a weekend with all expenses paid. This splendid lot has been provided courtesy of Grange, the Swindon Jaguar dealership. If rented from a specialist car hire company, the cost would be £1500+.

The application form and further information can be downloaded here.

If you would like to sponsor a hole at the event, please contact Rotarian Liz McCarron on liz.mccarron@btinternet.com.  For £120 you have the opportunity to display a banner for your company at a tee and behind the green, plus a mention in the Programme and Auction Schedule.
