The Faculty of Engineering & Design raised over £400 pounds for Ted’s Big Day Out last Friday. Staff banded together for the good cause by baking an array of delicious cakes and selling them on stalls in each Department.
Iain Forster, Director of Administration said: “I am delighted at all the support received across the Faculty. It is amazing how selling cakes over just a couple of hours raised a fantastic total of over £400 to support this event, Ted’s Big Day Out for the Forever Friends Appeal.
“The Forever Friends Appeal supports our local hospital, the funds raised help make a real difference to the lives of many patients cared for by the Royal United Hospital.”
A special thank you to Claire Hogg for getting the Faculty baking, and to everyone who baked, staffed the stalls and contributed to the total by buying a cake.
Ted’s Big Day Out is the Royal United Hospital’s annual fundraising day, when thousands of organisations and individuals take their teddy bear to work and raise money for a good cause. The day is part of the Forever Friends Appeal which funds additional equipment, research and innovations, as well as the finishing touches and ‘extras’ that complement the existing high quality care at the Hospital.
