The Queens Head pub in Box is rocking out for their BIG 21st Anniversary charity festival- Box Rocks. Save the date for Bank Holiday Monday 25th August, for eight great hours of live music. Adults pay £4 and children £2.00 on the door (under 5’s get in for free).
21 years of Box Rocks has raised over £23,000.00 for The Forever Friends Appeal at the Royal United Hospital in Bath. This year’s funds will be donated to the RUH Cancer Care Campaign- raising £8.5 million towards a new pioneering Cancer Centre.
There will be 8 bands over 8 hours- it’s great way to spend a Bank Holiday, relaxing with a drink in the hand and enjoying a day full of live music. Amazing acts will be performing from 1pm – late. Here are a few to name; Amadou Diagne & guests, the Bohemian Embassy, The Phoenix Club and The Corporations and friends will be the headliners for the evening.
This will be the 12th year that Box Rocks has supported The Forever Friends Appeal. Zoe Tainton, Community Fundraiser says: “This is a gig not to be missed! It is busy every year and the atmosphere is brilliant. Everyone relaxes with a drink, enjoying the music in the garden, with some great views and great company. There is a huge shelter as well, so if it rains, don’t let it put you off! We are very proud to say that the Queen’s Head at Box has been recognised as one of our Community Partners with our last project The Dyson Centre for Neonatal Care for our premature babies. We are now delighted that they are continuing to support the RUH Cancer Care Campaign- they have raised over £8,300 so far towards the new Cancer Centre, helping all those around us affected by cancer. Their commitment and enthusiasm to do something positive for charity is inspirational- the Box Rocks Crew are legends!”
Event organiser, Dean Creighton comments: “It’s our 21st birthday – that means we need to celebrate! There are over 30 of us in the Box Rocks crew who are dedicated to making this year the biggest and the best. We are so proud to support The Forever Friends Appeal, they are a fantastic charity who help so many people we know, not only do we get to raise much needed funds towards their projects, we also have fun doing it – come along to Box Rocks, it’s going to be epic.”
All those who have a passion for music and don’t want to miss out on this rocking festival, there will be a live internet link which will allow viewers to watch the festival from their own computers at home. You can also donate online and make this year it’s biggest yet!
