Box Rocks , the August bank holiday festival which took place in Box, Wiltshire has raised £2,818.36 for our Therapies Matter campaign.
Thanks to the Brownsword Challenge, these funds will be doubled, meaning £5,636.72 will go towards the build of the new RNHRD and Therapies Centre that is being built near the main entrance of the RUH.
Claudia Hickin, Senior Community Fundraiser said:
“Thanks to the Box Rocks festival, over £40,187.45 has been donated to the Appeal over the past 15 years. We are so grateful for the continued support from Box Rocks and their generosity has helped fund our major campaigns including the new Cancer Centre and previously the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as well as new equipment for wards and departments at the RUH.”
The Box Rocks Festival started back in 1994 with just a few local bands playing at the Queens Head Inn. As its popularity has grown, the organisers now set up a bigger stage so there’s a large viewing area for everyone to enjoy the host of acts that perform on the day. Dean Creighton, Event Organiser said:
“We’re proud to announce that with this year’s fundraising, we have smashed the £40,000 total for the RUH Forever Friends Appeal.”
