Celebrating 20 years of fundraising for the RUH

This year, we are celebrating 20 years of fundraising for the Royal united Hospitals (RUH) Bath.

Since 1999, more than £20 million has been raised for patient care at the RUH thanks to the support from the public, major donors, Trusts and Foundations and legacies.

In 2018 alone, we  reached our £8.5 million target for the new Dyson Cancer Centre and continue to fundraise for this pioneering new centre, with over £9 million raised so far. We’ve been able to purchase specialist medical equipment for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Gastroenterology department as well as provide 21 new sleeper chairs and beds for families to enable them to stay overnight with their relatives when it matters most. We also helped fund the hospital’s new Spiritual Care Centre – we simply couldn’t have done all this without you, so thank you.

Looking ahead, we are continuing to fundraise for our major campaigns, including the new RNHRD and Therapies Centre.  We have £250,000 left to raise towards the important new centre which provides therapy services for around 25,000+ patients who are treated each year by the combined services at the RNHRD and the RUH Therapies and Pain Departments. We also have four Special Appeals which need the public’s support.

Not sure how to support us? There are many ways you can get involved to support your local hospital:

  • Donate – make a one-off donation on our website or set up a monthly direct debit
  • Take part in our events – run the Bath Half, join our China Trek or Walk of Life, plus many more
  • Organise a fundraising event – either at work, with friends and family or take part in sponsorship events such as the London Marathon
  • Leave a gift in your Will – a gift large or small will help towards patient care in the future
  • Volunteer your time and support our work at our events, in your community or in our office.

So if you haven’t already, please consider making a New Year’s Resolution to support us this year. Your support means that we can continue to help thousands of patients and their families, when they need it most.

Happy New Year!
