Celebrating National Volunteers Week

The Forever Friends Appeal at the RUH celebrated National Volunteers Week at the beginning of June (1st – 7th June) by holding a bucket collection in Bath City Centre on Friday 6th June 2014. The day raised a fantastic £384 for the RUH Cancer Care Campaign- raising £8.5 million towards a new pioneering Cancer Centre at the hospital.

The Forever Friends Appeal are now recruiting volunteers to join Ted’s Team for the RUH.

The charity runs four very fun annual events; Bath Half, Walk of Life, Movie by Moonlight and Ted’s Big Day Out! They are always in need of assistance to help out at their large annual events and local community events. The charity welcomes those who would be happy to shake a bucket or be responsible for marshalling / stewarding at outdoor events. If you have a friendly, bubbly personality and enjoy a good walk, then the Appeal has a great role for you. Become a District Publicity Agent for the Forever Friends and help promote the events in your local community or Bath City Centre.

Zoe Tainton, Community Fundraiser says: “Thank you to all our lovely volunteers and staff members who took to the streets on Friday 6th June.  In particular, it was very kind of staff members from Withy King solicitors to help out during their lunch breaks. Withy King have chosen the Appeal as one of their three chosen charities for the year and have done so much for us. It was beautiful day spent out in the sun and great to meet so many new people. We are definitely looking for more volunteers to join our fun events team – we are a friendly bunch who welcomes anyone who wants to spare a few hours / days throughout the year at our annual events.”
