Thanks to generous supporters we were able to boost the spirits of staff and patients over Christmas.
Kind donations to our Christmas Appeal meant that gifts were given to every patient on Christmas day and 178 hampers were delivered to staff on each ward and department at the RUH.
Rhyannon Boyd, Head of Fundraising said: “The response to our Christmas Appeal has really shown how much our RUH staff are cherished by our local communities.
“Your kindness and support means a great deal to our colleagues, it gives them the strength to carry on. You helped bring joy to those who were working on the frontline over Christmas. We would like to thank everyone who got behind us at Christmas by making a donation.”
Our hospital colleagues were delighted to receive the Christmas hampers which were full with festive treats, snacks, non-alcoholic drinks and fruit to share with their colleagues.
Helen Wickett, Senior Sister on Charlotte ward said:
“The Christmas hampers were really appreciated by staff, thank you!”
Throughout December we shared staff stories every day to highlight the variety of staff roles and introduce the public to some of people who are looking after our loved ones. Their stories are inspiring and remain on our website as we want celebrate them, as they are our heroes. You can read their stories here
