Kier staff paddle, cycle, barrow, swim and rollerskate for charity

Kier Construction has raised £17,000 for charities including The Forever Friends Appeal through its month-long fundraiser.

The firm’s 500-mile charity fundraiser finished in Cardiff Bay yesterday after a month of paddling, cycling, roller-blading, swimming, stilt-walking and more.

Staff of Kier Group, which is part of the latest RUH development project including the new Cancer Centre, travelled between all their offices and sites in Wales and the west of England without using cars.

Wheelbarrows, zip wires, toboggans and skis have all been used, as have bikes for a 120-mile cycle trip across the Tamar Bridge between Cornwall and Devon.

In total, they have already travelled more than 700 miles.

And the challenge has already raised £17,000 for The Forever Friends Appeal  and four other charities, but its not too late to donate http://www.justgiving.com/teams/500-mile-challenge
