New Cancer Centre gets funding boost

Kier Construction handed over £3500 to The Forever Friends Appeal’s RUH Cancer Care Campaign. The money was raised by employees from Kier’s regional office in Warmley who took part in the Bath Half Marathon and the annual Walk of Life.

Kier operations director, David Snell, said: “It has been a pleasure to work with the enthusiastic Forever Friends team on these events. I personally, very much enjoyed taking part in the Walk of Life and would encourage anyone who enjoys a healthy stroll in the country to sign up for next years event.”

Jo Common, Corporate Officer for The Forever Friends Appeal commented: “Kier has been working with the Appeal very closely over the past few years – from sponsoring and taking part in our Walk of Life event, to entering a team in the Bath Half Corporate Challenge. We are just so pleased to have their support in helping us achieve our fundraising goals for the new Cancer Centre and would therefore like to thank every member of the Kier team for their wonderful enthusiasm and passion for our charity!”

The Forever Friends Appeal is raising £8.5m towards the building of a pioneering new Cancer Centre. This Cancer Centre will be a state of the art building which will transform care for patients and their families at the RUH Bath.
