If you have ever wanted to take part in an amazing challenge for charity here is your chance, and what better time than now to set yourself a New Year’s goal. The Forever Friends Appeal are looking for adventurous volunteers to trek The Great Wall of China and help raise funds for Cancer Care at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
Departing in September 2014, this unforgettable journey will take charity trekkers along The Great Wall, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. This trek is extremely demanding but also incredibly rewarding and promises to be the challenge of a lifetime. For those with a sense of adventure, discovering China on foot is an experience that will take trekkers out of their comfort zone to truly experience the magic and culture this beautiful country has to offer.
The Appeal is the fundraising charity for the Royal United Hospital in Bath, currently focused on the Cancer Care Campaign, raising £8.5 million towards a pioneering Cancer Centre. This new Centre will transform the care for patients and their families affected by this life changing diagnosis.
Laura Pearce, Events Fundraiser at the The Forever Friends Appeal says “This is a once in a lifetime challenge! Whether you want to tick off this Wonder from your bucket list, get trek-fit as part of a New Year’s resolution or simply want to do something extraordinary challenging for a great cause, we would love to have you on board. Not only will you help transform care for patients and their families that find themselves in need of the services at the RUH, you will take part in some fantastic trekking and create memories that you will remember for the rest of your life.”
The Forever Friends Appeal will be holding a ‘China Trek Experience Evening’ on Thursday 30th January from 6pm to 7.30pm at the Royal United Hospital. This evening is a great opportunity to find out more about the trek, the Cancer Care Campaign and how to sign up. Register your interest below or give the Events Team a call on 01225 821535 as places for this evening will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
