We were delighted to meet the team behind ‘Precious Pouches’ and say thank you for raising over £1,000 for the RUH’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Set up by Anna and Jess, Precious Pouches is a local collection scheme that recycles baby food pouches and sweet biscuit wrappers (of any brand). The recycling idea was born when Anna’s daughter Mia started eating baby food from pouches and Anna (being the recycling queen that she is!) started looking into how to recycle them and with the help of Sam who later joined the team and their friends, the scheme began.
Thanks to a company partnership between Terra Cycle, Ella’s Kitchen and McVitties, Precious Pouches earns points which they chose to convert to donations for the RUH’s NICU – a place close to their hearts as Mia, Jess’ son Ayrton and Sam’s son Michael spent time on the unit.
If you’d like to get involved and start recycling Precious Pouches have a number of drop-off points in the local area:
-Sainsbury’s Odd Down (in the baby food section)
-Tesco’s Weston Village (by the notice board)
-Weston Children’s Centre (reception area)
-Parkside Children’s Centre (reception area)
-St John’s Bath Toddler Group (Thursday mornings)
-Peasedown house location (available on request)
