Rotork £50K pledge for Cancer Centre

A pledge to donate £50,000 for the new Cancer Centre at the Royal United Hospitals, (RUH) Bath has been made by Rotork, a market-leading solution provider for the actuation, flow control and industrial markets based in Bath.

In recognition of their support, Rotork is now a Principal Corporate Partner of The Forever Friends Appeal. Tim Hobbs, Head of Fundraising said:

“I personally would like to thank the staff at Rotork. They’ve been long-standing supporters of the Appeal and have made significant contributions including raising £25,000 towards the build of the Dyson Centre for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) which opened in 2011.

“The building work for the new Cancer Centre is due to commence in 2019 once the new RNHRD & Therapies Centre is in place. In the meantime the fundraising campaign for the Cancer Centre continues to have huge momentum to maximise our fundraising efforts, ensuring it is truly special in its design, facilities and equipment.

“Fundraising in the fight against cancer never stops and we are confident that with the help of our dedicated supporters and the goodwill of the public, we will achieve this important goal towards the very best care, treatment and quality of environment for our patients.”

Karen Leigh, Group HR Manager, Rotork said:

“We are delighted to be named as a Principal Corporate Partner as we’ve been fundraising for the Appeal for a number of years. Our charity committee decided to raise funds for the new Cancer Centre after seeing the hospital’s Oncology department where current facilities are not ideal and highlighted the need for a new Cancer Centre.

“To know that there will be a specialist area in the new Cancer Centre named after us means a lot, as my colleagues, their families and friends have been touched one way or another by Cancer and we want to help raise the much-needed funds to help those being treated.”

The Forever Friends Appeal works with companies of all sizes and offers a range of ways to get involved to raise funds for patient care at the RUH including; corporate partnerships and events, payroll giving, sponsorships and more. Interested? Contact us for more information.
