Bath based car dealership Platinum Renault, located on the Lower Bristol Road, have teamed up with The Forever Friends Appeal at the RUH for another year and have loaned the charity a brand new Renault Clio to help with the promotion of their annual fundraising day Ted’s Big Day Out!.
In the run up to Ted’s Big Day Out! on Friday 14th October, Ted’s Clio will be driving the streets of Bath, North East Somerset and Wiltshire to help spread the word and encourage schools, nurseries, community groups, businesses and individuals to sign up and take part in the day. Every year hundreds of adults and children support the Appeal by paying just £1 to take their teddy bears out for the day.
This is the third year that the dealership has supported the charity in this way. General Manager for Platinum Renault in Bath, Paul Mitchell comments: “Platinum Renault Bath are thrilled to be providing Ted with some groovy wheels to promote his Big Day Out 2011. We are very pleased to continue our support for the RUH and this immensely important appeal which will benefit so many members of our community. The Platinum team will be joining in with the fun and bringing our teddies to work on Friday 14th October 2011!”
To help attract the attention of other car drivers and passers-by, Ted’s Clio has been branded with brightly coloured vehicle graphics to help promote the 2011 theme for the day – ‘Flower Power’. The Appeal are inspiring everyone to get groovy with Flower Power, by organising activities such as 60s fancy dress days at work or simply asking everyone to wear something flowery.

Don’t forget to look out for Teds’ Clio on the roads and do give him a wave! But most importantly make sure you speak to your friends and colleagues and sign up for Ted’s Big Day Out! this year – we need you to have some fun at work or school whilst raising money to help Cancer patients at the RUH.”
Getting Ted’s Clio out and about around the RUH catchment area is also the perfect opportunity for the Appeal to raise the profile of their recently launched RUH Space for Cancer Care Campaign, as the car graphics include the whizzy new Cancer Care Campaign logo. Those people that take part in Ted’s Big Day Out! 2011 will be raising funds for a new state-of-the-art Gamma- CT Scanner for the hospital – the first phase of this new Cancer Care Campaign.
