The Forever Friends Appeal is thrilled to have been selected as Featured Appeal Charity for the Vitality Bath Half Marathon 2015.
To celebrate, the Appeal have 200 Silver Bond places up for grabs and are looking for people across Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire to put on their running shoes and join what is affectionately known by everyone as “Ted’s Team” in the Vitality Bath Half Marathon 2015, to raise funds for the Royal United Hospital (RUH) in Bath. This popular race, located in the historic city of Bath, will take place on Sunday 1st March 2015 and the Appeal team is excited to announce that this year, funds raised by taking part in the race, can be donated to support any ward and/ or department at the RUH, as well as the main RUH Cancer Care Campaign, raising £8.5 million towards the build of a pioneering new Cancer Centre at the hospital.
Silver Bond places for The Forever Friends Appeal are now available and can be purchased for just a £35 initial donation, with a pledge to raise a further minimum sponsorship of £175 for The Forever Friends Appeal. Events and Community Officer for the Appeal, Emily Lynch comments: “We are so privileged to have been named Featured Appeal Charity for the Vitality Bath Half Marathon 2015. The Appeal has built a fantastic relationship with race organisers Running High over the years and are very excited to have a record 200 Silver Bond places in next year’s race!”
Mel Taylor, Charity Director at Running High added: “We have a longstanding relationship with the team at the Forever Friends Appeal which has been built over the years whilst working with them to raise funds through the Vitality Bath Half Marathon. The work they do is imperative to the RUH and since working with them we have seen so many developments at the hospital that are already benefiting so many people, which is why we selected them as our Featured Appeal for the 2015 race.
“Vitality BATHALF runners and their supporters are renowned for being some of the most motivated and generous in the running community, and I would like to take this opportunity to encourage them to run for this incredibly worthwhile local cause”.
The Vitality Bath Half Marathon 2015 is not just a race for experienced runners and athletes, with people of all abilities competing every year. Runners often show the lighter side of this famous race with fancy dress costumes, and the enthusiastic cheering of spectators enhances the feel-good factor of taking part.
Emily continues: “If you are up for taking on a challenge to support your local hospital, our Silver Bond places are now available via our website. Together we can make 2015 our biggest Bath Half team yet! Funds raised from taking part can be donated to support a ward or department of your choice at the RUH.
