It’s coming up to that time of year again, when people all across Bath, Wiltshire and Somerset get ready to take part in The Forever Friends Appeal’s famous annual fundraising day for The Royal United Hospital: Ted’s Big Day Out! 2014, proudly sponsored by Mogers Drewett, which this year, takes place on Friday 17th October 2014.
Ted’s Big Day Out! started in 1999 and over the course of fifteen years has seen thousands of teddies across Bath, Bristol, Somerset and Wiltshire enjoy an annual outing to work, school or wherever to help raise tens of thousands of pounds for The Forever Friends Appeal in just one day! For 2014 the Appeal is encouraging businesses, schools, nurseries, clubs, community organisations and individuals to sign up to support the fundraising day by having fun with funky footwear – take part and wear anything from silly socks, colourful crocs to wacky wellies, loopy laces and odd shoes! Or you could simply pay just £1 to take part in the traditional way and take your teddy out for the day on Friday 17th October.
In its fifteenth year, Ted’s Big Day Out! is once again being supported by Platinum Toyota, Bath, who have been kind enough to loan the Appeal’s Events Team an all new Toyota AYGO to promote the event with the general public around the RUH Catchment area. The car, which is fondly known as “Ted’s Truck”, has been colorfully branded to help promote Ted’s Big Day Out! and can be spotted all over Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire over the next four weeks, so keep your eyes peeled!
Claire Ellis, Group Media / Promotions Manager at Platinum Toyota says: ‘Platinum are extremely pleased to be supporting The Forever Friends Appeal, This is our 10th year providing the official Truck for Ted’s Big Day Out and we are always happy to support such a fantastic charity in any way we can’.
Events & Community Officer for the Appeal, Emily Lynch, explains: “The Forever Friends Appeal are so grateful to everyone at Platinum Toyota, Bath for supporting Ted’s Big Day Out! once again this year. Their kind support since 2004 with loaning our busy community and events team a vehicle in which to promote the event is invaluable help to the Appeal team, enabling us to travel around the RUH catchment area to promote the event, increase registrations and help transform care for patients and their families at the RUH in the process!”
Emily continues: “If you belong to a school, business, or community organization, we hope that you will register to take part in Ted’s Big Day Out on Friday 17th October. Your support will help The Forever Friends Appeal transform care for patients and their families at Bath’s Royal United Hospital!”
