Thank you for baking a difference for the RUH

Hundreds of businesses, schools, nurseries and community groups Popped on their aprons and prepared their mixing bowls for Ted’s Big Bake Off – The Forever Friends Appeal’s brand new region-wide fundraising week! proudly sponsored by Mogers Drewett

We’ve been absolutely overwhelmed at the level of support we’ve received this year for our brand new fundraising week for the RUH: Ted’s Big Bake Off. All across Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire, hundreds of businesses, schools, individuals and community organisations held bake sales, bake offs and coffee mornings in support of either the RUH Cancer Care Campaign or a ward or department of their choice.

The fundraising week opened on Monday 5th October with a special RUH Staff Bake Off which saw various members of staff at the hospital battle it out to be named RUH Star Baker. The event was attended by the Mayor of Bath (Councillor William Sandry) and the judging panel was led by Celia Adams, Owner of Bath Cake Company and award winning baker. The event was closed on Friday 9th October with a special RUH Big Bake Sale – the biggest cake sale the RUH has ever seen, which saw hundreds of cakes being sold in the hospital’s main atrium. The bake sale was officially opened by Celebrity Baker Tom Herbert, who is one half of television’s The Fabulous Baker Brothers and raised over £1,000 for the RUH Cancer Care Campaign – we are delighted! We would like to thank everyone for taking part in this year’s event and hope everyone will take part next year!
